What do these normally run? Something like tulip into straight maple with veneers. thx for the help

I think about a 4 minute mile. Just teasin.
Doesn't Prather list thier prices for full splice blanks or were you looking for another source for a tulip blank?
If you are, you might try Bell Forest Products as they are selling full splice blanks made by a cuemaker that knows his stuff.

Prather

They run about $240-$280 for exotic woods. If you email them they will reply pretty quickly during business hours. They have EXCELLENT customer service. Definitely get a Prather blank, you will not be disappointed.

While the nose on this one is BEM and not straight grained, here is an example of one that Jeff recently completed for me:

I should note that I specifically requested a piece of tulip that was more straighter grained and darker, with less swirls. I cannot attest to what they may, or may not, have left in stock, of the longer length required for a full splice blank.

The tulip is considered a 'premium' exotic...which means it gets the same upcharge as the ebony and BEM/Curly...which is $40.00. With a straight grain maple nose, it should run in the $280.00 range. Since you have found the Prather website, go to their Veneers page to see the available colors to choose from, or I am sure that Jeff will have a few suggestions.

The folks @ Prather are very nice and super helpful. I would urge you to give them a call @ 1-800-364-6913 and ask for Jeff...he will guide you through the process, and tell you what he has available.

The above pic is my 2nd blank from Prather. I have been quite happy with the quality of build in both blanks, as well as the quality of the woods selected. The first blank turned into a very nice looking, and outstanding playing cue. I have every confidence that this one will as well, and can hardly wait for it to be completed.
