Prather Reviews?

I live in Arizona, and I've come across quite a few folks with Prather custom cues. They appear to be nice lookers, but I'm hoping for some feedback from you folks on their shooting characteristics. Are they known to be well made & nice daily players? I'm looking for any/all feedback I can get...

considering picking up one of his sneaky petes for $300ish to try it out, but there just seems to be so many other choices in the same range, I'm overwhelmed!

i have been dealing with prathers for 7 - 8 years. they are very nice people and carry quality products.

i have only had a couple chances to hit a few with their cues, but find them very high nice as far as looks and the hit.


if you buy a cue directly from them, you can request the taper and tip you want to get the hit you like.

I deal with Jennifer and Jeff , great playin' cues , quality wood & construction ... Yes a little pricy , but you get what you pay for ... They have always done me right , I would say get yourself one and run with it !!!:cool:
 
Just got off the phone with Jeff like half an hour ago and I ordered a 301 d, with ebony and curly maple 8 floating points. Excited to get it, only 5-8 weeks away. I only live an hour from the factory, and Jeff was super nice. Told me to come by next week and play with him cuz he said it gets boring around there.
 
I have a few cues made from their fullspliced blanks and I think they are the best woods I have ever seen. Top notched!
 
I guess they supply a lot of components to other cue builders. I have seen some cues by them that are very fancy. But I wanted one that was nice but not too fancy as to where I wouldn't want to play with it.

Excellent playing cue. I wanted a full splice no nonsense cue. I picked one up from Jeff at the Valley Forge Expo back in 2008. I have bin playing with it ever since. Love it.
Great hit, harmonics and feedback.
 
I have dealt with Prather since he started,when my friend John Nemic began making the Deano cues,we bought prather full splice because we thought they were better that any otherm
I play with one of his full splice with veneers now,I put an ivory joint and butt on it and it plays great amd looks good.

I would be surprused if you could get one under $500,but I recomend the cues with Prather full splice butts to anyone
