I just picked up my new player. Greg Sowder of Sharkshooter Billiards in Vancouver Washington converted a Bocote/Maple fullsplice veneered Prather blank for me into a Willie Hoppe Pro tribute cue like my Grandfathers original which my Brother has. Greg did and outstanding job! I highly recommend Greg to anyone interested in having a cue made. He is very detail oriented and does very high quality work. His prices are excellent as well! You cannot go wrong with Greg.

I have been to Gregs Shop and seen some of his work . He does very nice work , very nice person to talk with . Thanks for showing , Jim

The blue is awesome. I like the layout of that cue as well as any I've seen.

Thanks for the complements

Thanks guys. I played with this cue today for the first time and it has a great hit. Its 61" long with a 31" butt and 30" shaft. I have lots of 3/8 x 10 shafts so I can make it any length from 59 to 61 inches by picking the shaft to adjust the length. The wrap is so well installed its nearly impossible to find the seam and this is a very smooth leather wrap which makes the seam very hard to hide. I could only find it by taking it outside in the bright sun and then only about one area 2 inches long was visible. Great job Greg!!
Here are a few more photos. I hope I have learned to do pics correctly.

Here is the joint pin which is titanium purchased from Tikkitavi on this forum along with the titanium weight bolt.

This photo shows the wrap seam if you look very carefully on the right side of the photo.

I should also commend Prather Cues because their blank was wonderful. There was lots of wood to work with and the veneers and points are first class. Prather blanks have nice sharp points at both ends and are very well priced. Here is the photo they sent to me when I expressed and interest in buying this blank:

Sorry this photo is so small. It was larger when I loaded it off of photobucket. You can see their blanks by using this link:
