Hang in there, Mike. You're one of the good guys and many people are praying for you. I know exactly what you're going through as I went through it 2 years ago this week. Now I'm better than new and I'm praying for the same results for you. Good luck, buddy.

I also went through this surgery back in 2000. As Charlie said, I was much better after the surgery than before, and I continue to be. I wish you the very best and hope that your recovery is smooth. Go to your cardiac therapy treatment, learn everything that you can, watch your diet and fon't try to do too much too soon.

Also, even though you may feel surprisingly good, your body goes through a lot of stress during the surgery and recovery. My hair (what I had left) went from red to white within about 6 months of the surgery...although very common these days, and a true lifesaver, this surgery is no piece of cake.
