Pre shot question

My point was that you suggested that the grip should be a fore gone conclusion before getting down on the shot. In my particular case, it is not. How much attention I pay to it, is something I couldn't say, but I do know it is a variable that does get adjusted while down on the shot.

I understand. Does that make it part of the shot execution or part of the PSR?

I think the PSR should be looked as simply a consistent transition between analyzing the table/choosing a shot and actually shooting/executing the shot. It should be simple and consistent and the same for every shot. Do you conciously adjust or pay attention to your grip hand on every shot? If so, then that could be considered part of your PSR.

A golfer visualizes the shot he's chosen, then steps up to address the ball, aligns the club face, maybe does a little waggle of the club head or twisting of the feet or whatever, just to settle in and loosen up. All of this is the PSR. It starts after he decides what shot he's going to play, and it ends when it's time to actually perform or execute the shot.

Not every golfer waggles the club head or twists his/her feet. Same with pool players...the PSR is an individualized process that can certainly be different for every player.
