Predator 314 2 shaft? Any news

"Improvements (advantages) of the new 314-2 shafts

Joint collars are now solid and more durable.
New ferrule on 314-2 is a titan ferrule and is stronger.
Shaft comes standard with an Everest laminated tip.
Ferrule is bored differently reducing deflection and is stronger.
Deflection is 5% less than the previous 314 shaft."

From a reliable source.

You can call predator using the number on their website and they will tell you the difference in the new shafts. I talked to them the other day. The shafts will be available June 16th and all the differences mentioned above plus the new shafts have some kind of phenolic in the joint to help improve feel. Thats what I was told when I called them anyway. Platnium billiards has them listed at $191.

I heard alot of people were switching out the old ferrules on 314's, is this new ferrule that much better?

I bought a new Predator SE 8 and SE 9 by J. Pechauer from Joe Nielsen recently with the new 314-2 shafts and had the pleasure to play about 60 racks with them last night. I am more of a poker than a long stroker and I really could get a better feel from the new shafts. It has an incredible sense of touch. I usually shoot with an older Scruggs with 3/8-10 pin and solid ivory joint with a 30" 314 shaft with a medium Moori III tip. I love the hit but I have to say the new 314-2 was very impressive. I will certainly spend the $$$ for a new 314-2 shaft to fit my Scruggs. You know what they say about opinions though...

In case anyone is wondering, these are supposed to be available tomorrow via Platinum Billiards. If they are indeed ready for tomorrow, they say they will ship same day.
