A multi world Champion told me that pros don't use them in Taiwan because they wear out quickly under intense play and no one wants to have to get use to a new shaft all the time.
Nothing beats a good solid maple shaft.......simply nothing.
Not in feel or endurance. They're as good 20 years from now as they are brand new...long as
you treat them well. And if you hit super hard and break a ferrule it usually has no effect on
the shaft..... where as with LD's it can take out the shaft too if a ferrule breaks.
Carbon fiber pad and all that nonesense......common.....just play pool.
People only do this because they don't have to compensate quite as much but everyone
STILL has to compensate for their english......so what's the point?
Physics are physics and you will always have to compensate when shooting with English.
While getting used to one awesome solid maple shaft and shooting it like
there's no tomorrow instead of dealing with a numb and feeling-less shaft
all just to not have to compensate quite as much.
Weird.

Actually the process they do makes them play more consistently from shaft to shaft than if you had custom cues or others. Not sure why they would wear out prematurely but I do know that some pros don't like playing with shafts that look "used" so they're constantly being cleaned, so if the person cleaning them is sanding them in any way then yes they are going to wear out VERY quickly.
The question was asked if I break with the shaft. No I do not. I play mostly in my basement that ts set to 45 % humidity. I just don't understand why none of my other LD and non LD shaft wiggle when rolled. Even my cheap eBay $100.00 Dale Perry rolls straight and that is a loner cue that gets broke with all the time. All well. Just wondered if I was the only one with the Predator wiggle. Looks like it's a common thing to some. It does not effect my play just that when you pay $200.00 twice it get me ignored the more I think about it. Thanks again. Michael
Lots of issues with Predator shafts, I'm talking about the second genration shafts. Cracked ferrules, delamination, shafts that are not or want stay straight etc.
It's simply a low quality product! I don't understand why so many people love those shafts.
Hopefully the new third gen shafts are better.
