Predator 314-2

14.1 to life
Just received my new 314-2 4 oz shat from Seyberts Billiards today. I ordered this shaft hearing about the problems with the ferrule and tips coming loose and the fact that they are now made overseas.
I must say that the shaft plays extremely well. All parts are very tight, well finished. The shaft hits very solid, with very low deflection, now my favorite shaft.
This is my opinion after buying and playing with the 314-1, Z shaft, OB-1, Universal Smart shaft TX8, McDermott I2.
Loved my Universal TX8 the most until today.

So you like the 314 better than the McDermott I2?

Similar but the 314-2 has less deflection. The McDermott I2 used was a prototype that McDermott sent to me to try out. Not sure if the actual production shafts are the same or different.

The I2 can't compare to the OB-1 or the 314. The I2 is just a small upgrade from the regular McDermott shaft, but not worth the hype. I have owned all three I shafts!

314 vs 314-2

Did you previously play with a 314? If so, I am curious if you really notice any major difference between the 314 and 314-2?

Thanks for any feedback,

Dakota

I have a 314, 314-2, and Z2. There is a noticeable increase in performance as you go up from the 314 to Z2. Less deflection as well. I love all three but I like the Z2 for 9 footers and the 314-2 for small box.

I play with a 314-2 and a 314 spare cue. very little difference imo in terms of deflection but the 314-2 hits and feels better. But i really do not like the Z shaft. I find the tip too tiny. So even if they have lower deflection, you have to consistently hit at the right point to avoid unintentional english.
