Predator 314-3 silencer pad question

Silencer pads and fiber pads
ARE NOT THE SAME!
Last I heard Predator offered silencer pads 10 to a order minimum.
I buy more because it's Warranted and MY JOB!

They won’t even authorize warranty repair or replacement until they have the product sent back to them.
I had a tip failure on a Revo that I sent in for a warranty. I assume they repaired in because that’s what the invoice said, but it came back looking like a brand new shaft, packaged like a brand new shaft, with a a Revo bag, patches and wipes so I guess they could have replaced it and re-serialed it with the same one and I would have no way to tell.

The only bad part was that it took almost a month across country and back.

I am not a cue maker nor am i a predator dealer
A year or so ago
When I tried to buy the vault pads from predator, I was told I could only buy them if I was a predator authorized dealer
It may be different now

last I heard the pads were available, but minimum of 10, at $10 each so $100. I split an order a few yrs ago. I do agree with JS858, Predator is absolutely THE WORST company for warranty stuff. They do everything they can to get out of honoring it. I have also had friends send their stuff in for paid repairs and got sent back either the wrong shaft, or got a butt back instead of their shaft....I have stories but to lengthy to get into here.

I repair, I get paid.
The way it should be.
It's not my Products!
 
I have also purchased the sound pads and completed several repairs.
My question is in regards to customers who utilize the warranty and send their cues back to predator.
Is Predator repairing cues or do they only offer a new part as a replacement?

What is that silencer pad material, looks familiar. I'm sure it's top secret but seems few things are made just for cues, usually something is used elsewhere and gets introduced into cues
 
You can buy a red linen Phenolic pad that looks exactly like the Predator silencer pad. It appears to be same material. They are $5 each and no minimum. They are thicker than the Predator pad and will need to be trimmed down. I've installed several of these pads for customers that don't want to go through the warranty route. I believe there are rules against listing suppliers in this forum. If you message me, I'll let you know where to get them.

i decided to try again
this time i was able to order over the phone
10 pads at $10 each plus tax
paid via paypal and now awaiting delivery
payment showed clawson custom cues which apparently is affiliated with predator

Clawson looks like the parent company. Holds the trademarks headquartered in Jacksonville FL with satellite office in Hong Kong.

Predator does not build cues nor do they repair anything. They have them built in China some okay, some pure crap, import them with a cat on them. Then if you fight long and hard for warranty work with 20 phone calls and pictures and after the cue has been shipped to them for inspection and approval, it is then sent to a random cue maker who is authorized to do the repair. Then it is typically sent from there back to you. But not always. Sometimes it is sent to 'The Predator Group' then back to you. By the time this is all said and done, often times the cue has earned ten thousand frequent flyer miles. Been their done that. The first shop modified my cue and put in a different bumper because they lost mine and did not have a matching one. Back in the air she went to make the bumper hole the original size... It was almost a year all together. The last destination was 'Pechauer cues' who did a fantastic job! They replaced the entire butt plate and refinished the entire butt wrap and all. It looks far better than new to their credit.
In my opinion 'The Predator Group' is 'The Predatory Group' $10.00 each for a thin slice of .500 linen Pheonolic seems a bit predatory to me anyway. But at least you only have to invest $100.00 to get one.

Those are protective pads. OB shafts were pie-shaped (radial) laminated with a 3/16" or so hole bored down through the middle, then topped with a maple ferrule. The carbon pads were to help protect the ends.
