Predator 314 issues

You have ANYONE else besides Predator or Mike Webb referrule your 314 you might as well just throw it away and play with another kind of shaft.

Trust me, it WON'T play even CLOSE to right.....

So who is Mike Webb? :P

If a scratch is deep enough you will be able to feel it and see it, does it SOUND broken? Just trying to save you some time and money if the ferrule doesn't need replacing and is just scratched.

My suggestion to address your near term need is to buy another one from Mueller (or Seyberts... same price, free shipping)... and ship the cracked ferrule one back to Muellers for a complete refund. That should take it back.

Your debit/credit card will get dinged... but a couple of days later you'll get a credit for the same amount.

Talk to Mueller Customer Service and explain your situation. They may cooperate and do what I just described. It's worth a try.

Webb is a Premier cue builder in the USA and one of our members.

He is an Authorized Predator Shaft repair person and stocks their ferrules ONLY for repairing their cues.

Having him do it is as good as having Predator do it....

In My Humble Opinion anyhow....

When I explained the situation to the customer service guy at Muellers, I mentioned possibly having them ship me a replacement while I ship the first shaft back - but apparently that's not how they work. He wanted me to ship the shaft back to them for repair. Its understandable - they don't want to get stuck with a used shaft, even if it's 100% fixed.

I just chatted with a gal at Predator - I think what I'm going to do is ship it to them directly, and have them handle it. I think that makes more sense than going through Muellers, as far as 'going to the source' and getting the best possible repair job done. I'll just have to play with my normal shaft a fair bit to get re-used to it before next weekend. :/

Thanks much for your input guys! Very appreciated.
