hi, i am wondering whether or not it is possible to change the tip on the predator air and if so then what is the best option? i am really struggling to get the white to lift on jump shots, especially on longer jumps, i am not great at jumping the ball but i can do it reasonably with cheaper jump cues but hardly any success with the pred air, i find almost every other jump cue to be easier to use than this.

Might try a Super Pro. The local repairman uses them on his break and jump cue and is quite happy. I love it on my breaker. I had the same problem with the Air. I bought one for a friend off AZ and took it for a try out before I handed it over. I couldn't jump a ball if my life depended on it.

Frazz,

Predator uses phenolic on the Air. Unless it has been changed, you won't find any benefit from changing it.

The Air is very light, so you need to play around where you hit the cue ball. The really light jump cues are different. They will jump great, you just have to find the Sweet Spot for your stroke!

The Air might actually be too light. I have one, and it is very much different. I think it would benefit from a tad bit more weight - preferably in the shaft. The phenolic tip will get the ball up, but Samsara's JB tip will do as good a job and you'll net better control.

cheers guys although i have given up on the air and have swapped a z2 that i wasnt using anymore for a gulyassy jump cue which i find awesome, i am a lot more confident with it and find i am actually playing push-outs to leave jump shots now and feeling happy that i can make the ball if i am put back in! believe me thats a big difference for me. i find the gulyassy actually has the same kind of accuracy as the air but jumps easier and i get more reaction from the white when using it.
