Having owned several break cues (everything from a cheapie to a fury, 5280, sneakys, etc) and having tried nearly every gimmic phenolic tip out there (mostly cues that other people have), i would have to say the BK2 has hands down the best break of them all. I've hit with several sledgehammers (production all the way to one of a kind custom) and still hold to my previous opinion. i dont really buy all the jazz about having a bigger sweet spot on the cue ball, but the hit is still better with this cue. I'll never sell mine.
my best advice would be to try it though before you buy it. many of my friends have hit with it before and swear by their sledgehammers. (i say mainly because they're already stuck with them...)

I like the BK2 the best of any cue with a leather tip (have tried most of the common brands).
I like the Stinger best of the phenolic tip break cues.
I have NOT tried Richard's "X-breaker", maybe he'll bring a demo to DCC for us pool degenerates to try.

I've personally never found a cue that performed great at both jumping and breaking. The stinger IMO is average as a jump cue, and below average as a break cue. I love the BK2 for breaking. I don't jump very often, and when I do, I use the BK2 shaft with a jump handle, and it works well enough for the few times I use it.
I have a BK2 and Viking BK. I gotta tell you, I break just as hard with my 20oz house cue. I even have the radar reading to prove it. 27mph on my first try, which is the hardest I have ever broke with my other cues. The cue isn't going to make any difference in your break than any other break cue.
The one thing I don't know if I like about the BK2 is that the cueball jumps more than any other cue I have tried. I believe it's because of the low deflection shaft. I bought this cue after trying a BK1 which I liked very much. I think I would rather have the BK1. The BK2 has more of a conical taper to it much like a Z shaft.
IMO the only thing that separates the BK and BK2 from other cues is if you put unintentional sidespin you will still hit where you are aimed at. A cue with high deflection will not be as forgiving.
