Predator BK3 Shaft...sticky finish

I'm curious. I've been using the BK2 for quite a while now and I really like it. I've tried several different BK3's. They feel a little strange to me, perhaps a bit too light. However, the results are excellent. There is no question this cue does a great job of transferring power to the cueball. However, here is my only issue:

It seems that every one I tried has some sort of glossy finish on the shaft. It almost feels like a fiberglass CueTech. What's up there? Is this just a thin sealer or something that can easily and harmlessly be sanded off? I like the cue and would probably get one, but there is no way I'd ever be able to deal with a sticky shaft that doesn't slide through my bridge smoothly. I generally like the feel of very smooth bare wood. This is not what I encountered with the BK3. Anyone know what I'm talking about, and have any advice or info on this? Thanks!

not one of the 105 people that looked at this has anything to add? Anyone have a BK3? How did you deal with this finish on the shaft?

I don't own one, I had a couple of breaks with a friend's yesterday. I did notice what you are talking about, don't think that coating is similar to fiberglass or the one that MG uses on his shafts.
I will have a second look if I meet my friend again, but I believe one needs to leave it as it is at least for some time, see how the shaft will react after use before sanding or anything.
It felt "ok", I would not call it sticky, I think it feels less slippery which is fine for breaking. The cue I tried is still new though so I need to check it again after some time, ask my friend too.
I also did like how the cue breaks.
