Predator cue question

I’m considering purchasing the cue pictured below. The description says the handle is black painted maple. If the cue was ever damaged and had to be recoated, would the handle have to be repainted? IMG_1651.jpegIMG_1652.png

Hold on a second. I am confused. What is the name of this cue? Did the description come from Predator? Is it a full or "true" splice that has a component painted black after being turned? Is the entire design (points, veneers, etc.) painted on? HOW CAN PREDATOR SELL THE LATTER AS A FULL OR TRUE SPLICE?

It says right in the description it’s painted over curly maple. If you think your getting all those points for a cue that sells for less then $500 and they are real inlays you got a lot to learn about cues. Plus for $500 who cares.. do you like how it plays is the only question that really matters for a cue that cheap from a major brand.

So my 1949 WHP that Brunswick sold for $13.95 in 1949 must be also be painted because "$13.95 in 1949 has the same buying power as approximately $188 to $190 today (late 2025)"?

You might be correct, but I, for one, will require better evidence.

Name of Cue: SP4Rx :: where x stands for the kind of joint:: W==wood, S==steel, ...
I have 2 SP8RWs and I like them.
15 years ago it was a $350-$400 cue with a $250 314 or Z shaft.
So the but is worth $100-$150--less if in need of repair.

Mine is a SPJLW: Sneaky Pete/Jointed/Linen Wrap. I call it the "Green Hornet" due to its green veneers. I bought it new because of the shaft and learned to love the butt. It was my shooter for many years. Great cue and great value in my book.
