Predator fakes - always keep your eyes open

got hold of some Chinese cues and cases, Predator imitations. Frankly, these are not imitations really but an attempt to use a brand name on crappy product.


The case (looking to be named PreOator) carries a beast that resembles Pred's cheetah, but only if you don't have an original nearby (see lower pic for comparison). Then it becomes obvious the animal above looks very weird.

Then there are some cues that come with funny shafts. First, the brand now reads PREOAIDR.


And the funniest thing is that they are not even laminated, they are just cheap straight grain maple!


Beware of crappy fakes and always check twice what you pay for. Nowadays it's easy enough to get cheated.

I saw one on ebay & thought the same thing as it did not look laminated.

Predator should try to do something about it ASAP.

Yeah, there is a full blown piece in the current Pool & Billiard magazine (I think that's right ... might be Billiards Digest. I don't have either one with me so I can't check). They are well aware of these Pacific Rim ripoffs. :angry:
