There is a local supply store that lets you test shoot with cues including chalking. I think they don't have any custom cues. A place called "Billiards and Bagels" (in Oregon? ) used to do the same with higher-end cues. A friend of mine spent an hour or so there before buying.

According to the P3 specs on Predator website, the P3 butt is thick.
If you consider it thin, I don’t want to know what their thin butts feel like…

P.S. from what I remember hitting a few balls with a P3, it did feel on the thinner side, so I guess it’s all a matter of perspective

So that’s the weird thing about P3’s. The original black had the thick grip diameter. If you look at the special edition ones, like the current aura, it’s listed as medium. I remember others, like the REVO editions, were listed as thin. They varied the thickness and I sort of agree the original ones were a little fat.
