Predator fat shaft, help me please....

It is what it is...

So I've been playing with 314^2 shafts for many years and have felt good with them, but...

Today I put my standard shaft on my cue and I really like the feel of it. Great feedback. But the deflection is out of control. Lol.

So... I'm thinking about trying a fat shaft from predator. I hope it feels like a standard shaft with the low deflection.

Anyone have experience with these? Please let me know.

Thanks

It plays pretty much the same as the 314^2 except it is thicker. I think they are 13.25 if memory serves me correctly. It has been some time since I have played with one. If you like the 314^2 and prefer a thicker shaft vs the 12.75 you will like it. If you are looking for a standard shaft with a low deflection hit this is not what you are looking for. I would suggest a Schon if that is the case. That is just my opinion on the Schon of course but I always thought they hit fairly stiff for a standard shaft.

I've played with a FAT shaft before and it's pretty similar to the normal 314 in terms of deflection and hit. It'll definitely be a good buy if you really like that thicker feel.

I believe the op meant the squirt was out of control after being used to a ld shaft. And yes schons do hit stiff and have a huge amount of squirt i play with one with a preditor pre cat 314. It took me close to 3 months to get my and brain trained to the predator from the schon shaft as i was hitting every thing with side english to fat with inside and to thin with outside do to the decrease in squirt.

Well I play with the FAT shaft for 2 years and I can tell you it's not the same feel as 314-2.
The fact is I love to "feel" the cue ball ( having some feedback upon contact with OB ) and I can't adjust to play with the 314-2 ( I feel nothing , zero feedback ) , so I play with the FAT, you will have some feedback like a normal shaft BUT there is more deflection AND MORE IMPORTANTLY it provides significantly less english compare to the 314-2. I dont't care about that while I have a good stroke :D , so I stick with the FAT.
That's the story, hopes it helps.

Thanks for your input! I'm going to try on out.
