Predator Partial Shafts???

I just bought another custom cue and was wondering if the predator partials are turned down by the cuemaker or do they come standard size and all that is required is the joint work. The reason I ask is because the cue I bought has a slightly larger joint(diameter) than average and all the shafts that I have put on it are too small in diameter at the joint. 5/16x14.

The partials come complete with the finished taper, tip & ferrule. They are left a bit long and oversize at the end which will be mated to the cue. So...you should be fine with a partial.

?????????

Who made your cue? What type joint? By that I mean S/S, phenolic, ivory
or wood?

Shurtz Custom Cues, and it is a wood joint. I used the digital caliber on it and it is .065" larger in diameter than my BCM's and a few others.

!!!!!!!!!!

Thats the reason I asked the questions. I figured you bought a Shurtz.
They are either .850 or .855 at the joint. If you have not played with the shaft. I believe you can up grade to his version of laminated shaft that
he says plays like a predator for $80.00.

i have asked both at seyberts.com and atlas billiard supply (http://www.cuestik.com). seyberts response was they would vary from .860" to .880" and atlas had a similar response that they where approximatly .870" at the joint. unfortunatly, neither of them answered me if a specific size could be requested, because when i was looking, it was for a joss cue that i measured at being .880" at the joint. so i just gave up and had tibbitts cut and fit me a shaft to it.
