The vitrol of the personal attacks against Filler from the peanut gallery for spurning Matchroom is ridiculous. For all we know it was forced on him by sponsors and wasn't even his decision at all.

Loyalty to sponsor over tour/tour promoter every time in bigger scheme of things. Something is very wrong with the player if he chooses tour promoter over his long time sponsor. Easy decision and no brainer

That's all good-n-fine. He just needs to keep his piehole shut unless he's planning on actually doing what he said. MR/WNT will be fine with or without him. He needs to play all those big Predator events, like all three of them. Better yet go play some Snooze,,,,,,errrrrr, Heyball.

Well said. The smear campaign against him, in which many on our forum have chosen to participate, is regrettable and, to be fair, shocking.

'Shocking'???? Didn't have you clocked as a drama queen. If someone reneges on his word calling them out for it is now 'smearing'??? Please. I know you love the guy but c'mon its a forum full of pool nuts. Expect us to hold his hand while he crosses the street??

It is your every right to disapprove of his choice to withdraw himself from a boycott that was, as far as I am concerned, a joke to start with. Yes, he went back on his word. I respect every person's right to change their mind on a matter of political affiliation or stance, and what we have here is no more than that.

Frankly, I simply cannot see how his actions have, in any way, done any damage to pool or its image, nor do I fear any future negative consequences.

You have every right to disapprove of his actions, but you have done so with a tone of incivility. In post #13, you called him a "little prick," so you have taken your stance far further than just disapproval. You have, instead, chosen to attack the character of a player who has been a consistent credit to our sport since the day he arrived.

So, let's drop the suggestion that you are simply disagreeing with how he handled things in this matter (I, too, wish he had handled it differently) and recognize that you are participating in a character assassination.

Gar, you are one of my favorites here on the forum, and this has not changed, but we are not on the same page here. Agree to disagree.
