Predator Pool Balls

For those who thought I was spreading Pixie Dust, here they are. Santa Claus dropped them off yesterday. I like the font, size of the numbers, the darts at the top, bottom and sides of the numbers and the black dotted Measle Ball. I'm not a fan of the logo on the balls and believe they may have eliminated that if these made it into production.

pred has or had the right idea

aramith as a company blows
HUH???????????? Aramith is a PRODUCT of Saluc in Belgium. They make THE best billiard balls money can buy. Why would you say they "blow" as you so eloquently put it? How much do you want to bet that these Predator balls(which they have no current intention to sell) are made in China by the same outfit that makes those super-skid Cyclops?

Aramith is just a cleaner looking set...

http://www.aramithpoolballs.com/bbat.html

1. The circles with numbers are smaller and they take up less surface area than this predator set.
2. The circle/numbers are placed on the color of the stripes so the white is left pure and untouched.
3. No need for a logo with Aramith, while predator placed an oversized logo on the opposite side of the numbers, with the stripes its glaring with the white taken up.

I always liked how Snooker has no numbers and the balls just seem to glide around the table since there aren't any numbers or logos rolling around. Understanding that pool needs numbers for identification purposes, but the smaller the number and more clean the color, the better the set is visually to watch/play.

Russian Billiards balls look all white but they have a small number stamped on them so they can be identified but not so overbearing.

I think predator should dial it down a notch. Make the numbers smaller, and if you are going to have a logo, make it like they did the 8 ball and just the outline with the color of the ball behind it. They should have done that for at least all the solids.

I hear you but bear in mind, these are prototypes. There's no telling if the logo would have been on a production set.

I think size of the numbers is subjective. I prefer larger numbers on the balls, be it Centennials, Super Pros or Cyclops.

The Predator prototype with the numbers appears to be a much closer copy to the Brunswick Centennials than anything I've seen. Only difference is the four notches just inside the circles at 12,3,6, and 9 o'clock instead of the Centennial's 2 notches at 3 and 9 o'clock.

Hard Times in Sacramento, CA has these balls. Unless you’re playing in the tournament room, you have to ask to play with a set.

I have to throw in my 2 cents.

Just like many have said here the logo is not liked.

To me it is awful, cheap and very vain (as in stupid) to feel you have to advertise everything you do. If the balls turn out to be great balls they will be very successful in selling them. They need to have a classic and timeless look. When playing the game we don't need to be reminded who made the balls we just need to know as a player or spectator what ball is being played.

Predator, are you listening to the comments on this thread. Not one person has stated they like the logo.

PLEASE LOSE THE LOGO!

Good Grief yes, what Rob wrote.
LOSE the logo. I don't own anything predator but I don't even want to use these things with their name all over them. These balls will go great with that butt-ugly Supreme cue that was posted here a while back.

I hate the way these balls look.
Why can't they just put numbers on both sides like EVERYONE else does?
They push their logo too hard.
All over their cues, their cases their gloves and now their balls.
Just amazing.

No. They are listening to the 1000s of comments on Instagram and Facebook that say they love them and can’t wait to buy a set. Predator might be 1 of the most successful companies selling pool supplies for a reason... they know how to market better then anyone in the business. Im happy to see any company making money in this business. It’s tough !!

If you want balls with a timeless design get centennials. These are for the people that don’t.
