Predator Pure chalk

As Predator seems to be making absolutely everything in pool these days, it looks like they’re coming out with a Taom competitor called Pure chalk. There seem to be soft, medium, and hard versions, maybe something like like Taom’s regular and V10? And they‘re octagonal, which is probably an improvement over the horrible round, but I’d still prefer square. They’re even colored like Taom.

I don’t think they’re really released quite yet, but has anyone had a chance to use them?

$49.99 + S&H……order today and take $5.00 off.
Chalk on Sunday and play thru Saturday…once a week.

Guaranteed never to crumble or leave debris for 180 days.
20% smaller so less coring when chalking but costs more.

Order today….Be the first on your block to be able to say…
I’d buy a camel turd to use if I though it made me play better.

I bet it will be $30 like kamui. A piece of kamui lasts me like 18 months so thats less than $2 a month. I know that‘s pretty steep for you pool cheap skates but I can afford it. 🤷‍♂️If you can’t afford it Walmart has some lovely chalk you can pick up on the cheap. 😂

I like round feel of the Taom chalk, myself. But, functionally, I have to agree it’s probably not the best idea. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped my Taom (butter fingers) only to look down and have absolutely no idea where it went because it hit my shoe, took off and rolled 10 feet in some random direction.

I was playing a bar table tournament on Valleys a couple of weeks ago and dropped it on the rail while I was putting it down—rolled right in the side pocket. Had the owner take the front of the table off so I could reach over the ball return and fish it out; 5 cubes of master chalk, $2 in quarters, and 20 minutes later I finally managed to get my chalk back.

Wifi and Bluetooth?

I missed a long shot the other day and lost the match, I wonder if I had had this chalk I would have made the shot? Maybe it is like kamui, in that you only pull it out of your pocket for those special needs, like a secret weapon.

That is almost the exact concept Kamui is pushing with their new Kageki (btw, Japanese for "radical") chalk, which is $31.70 at the dawg. Maybe if I'm good Santa will sneak a piece into my stocking, but I'm not sure I'll see one before then.

It is not a question of affordability which only a pool snob would presume. If that was the reason,
I’d be own and play with simply a Tim Scruggs Sneaky Pete pool cue or equivalent pool cue. It’s
the fact that there are far less expensive pool chalk alternatives that do exactly the same thing,
i.e., create friction, and are every bit as clean. Chalk does not make you any better nor improve
your pool stroke, overcome your flaws or imbue you with newfound pool strategy intelligence.
All you need to do is properly apply chalk and that has nothing to do with the monetary price you
paid for the chalk you choose to use. Thinking anything otherwise is an indication of pool snobbery.

Its not the price that prevents me from owning Kamui chalk (maybe a little, partially due to principal I refuse to pay $30 for a single cube of chalk) but rather its the fact that its just not necessary to spend $30 on a single cube of chalk. It wont make me play better, it wont make balls go in the pocket, it wont improve english over other brands of chalk, in fact the only thing it does do is make a huge fricken mess. Nothing is worse than shooting against someone using Kamui and leaving huge blue marks all over the cue ball that I have to clean off every time I break. In fact there is a very possible likelihood that Kamui will degrade your game if you are leaving chalk marks on the cue ball due to throw, its actually kinda funny when you think about it. People are free to use whatever chalk they want when shooting on my table up to the point it starts leaving marks, then they must put it away if they wish to continue playing.

But wait, there’s more! If you order right now you get, absolutely free, a second piece of chalk! That’s a $49.99 value, yours for free if you order right away. Operators are standing by . . .
Just pay 6.99 additional shipping and handling charges... I'll stick with time tested Masters Blue thank you.

Over the last couple of months I have dropped the same piece of Taom down a pocket, like maybe three or or five times.

The thing is... it's round, so if you drop enough balls into the pockets odds are you'll catch it just so and it'll roll down the return, at least on a Diamond.

still using
the same piece

I’ve noticed that. I have a Diamond at home now and about the second week after it was set up I dropped a piece of Taom in one of the side pockets. Didn’t take long for it to find its way to the ball return.

I have been using the Taom V10, and it is great chalk but other chalks work just as well in my opinion. For league play I went back to my Predator chalk because I still like the option of chalking before shots because it feels good and is part of my routine. I find myself chalking every shot no matter what chalk is in my hand, Taom, Predator, Master, or whatever chalk.
