Predator shaft question

I responded to post 35, which appears to be a response (or reference to) post 32. No Illusions offered to place a wager that KV's mods to a Predator shaft would not increase deflection over an otherwise identical stock Predator shaft.

Thanks Rasta,

I reread this thread and I believe Buddha to be right on. I further believe that the increase in squirt would surely be measureable by Platinum Billiard's methods and Shane Sinnott would likely be willing to arrange the test for a reasonable fee.

If I were given detailed info on the conversion I would come with an over/under and personally put up 5 dimes but I suspect that
No Illusions/KV would squirm out of it somehow...

A test by the same people that said a Fury was the best performing breakcue? LMAO
And I wouldn't put KV's name into this, I originally offered the wager, NOT him. Bottom line, I've played with the 314 both ways and KV's mods do NOT increase any noticable deflection. I'm an A- player and I think I'd know what plays well on my cue and what doesn't. There are quite a few other players, many whom play above my speed, that play with the modded shaft because thats what they want to play with. For what its worth I don't even play with a 314 any longer. I play with an ob-1 that Kevin souped up for me and I like it even better.
You guys have nothing better to do than dig up a 3 month old thread and try to bust my balls over offering a wager back then? Nice life you have.

I would also speculate that the mods increase the deflection. It's just applied physics. That doesn't mean it would play badly, mind you, but increasing the end mass will certainly increase deflection, all else equal. Of course the same would be true of the OB-1 mod if weight is added in a similar manner.

Feel free to offer a better idea to eliminate the human factor from such a measurement. It is certainly a more reliable way of obtaining data than even an opinion from someone who has played with both versions of the 314.

Of course, if it was just an empty woof...
