Why tf is predator coming out with a “sneaky Pete” series but they have joints? I thought sneaky Pete’s were supposed to have hidden wood to wood joints so you couldn’t tell the difference from a bar cue? Or am I missing something here? Are we just labeling everything as sneaky Pete now?

I’m old school too brother!!!!! Agreed

Predator has been making sneak Pete cues for over 20 years, some are sneakier that others. These are good players cues at reasonable prices. The SPJU is pretty sneaky.

Remember back in the 70's, or possibly early 80's in Racine, I think it was Sailors sneaky Pete's that were the rage there. Never did get one, but alot of locals did, looked just like a bar stick. I think they were $60 or $70 then. Wonder what they would be worth now?

Pretty much. My Pechauer sneaky doesn't have joint collars, but the wood and finish are so nice, that it won't fool anyone. I also have a Schmelke sneaky that is pretty plain, but again, the wood and finish will give it away. I suspect that finding a Sneaky Pete that looks like a real bar cue will be tough, unless you have an actual house converted by a cue maker.

It ain't sneaky for long when the shaft starts to blue so unless you do alot of cleaning or shaft buying it don't make a difference

I play (pre pandemic) 15 hours a week, and I have an SP8RW with a Z2 S-tuned shaft that is over 10 years old and has no blue color on the shaft (and I use blue chalk).

The thing it, you can clean the blue off if you choose to do so.

My uncle still has a sneaky Pete. Wood to wood joint looks exactly like a bar cue. But the shaft is cored and it has a good tip on it. He said he’s had it since the 70’s. Might be the same thing. I’ll ask him next time I’m over at his place who made it. He’s in illinois.

I do think just so the idea is still close to original that they shouldn’t be able to call a cue a sneaky unless it’s wood to wood at the minimum.

No one has been fooled by a Sneaky Pete in 30/40 tears. It's just a way to make a simple relatively cheap cue.
Not the point lol. They’ve mainstreamed and ruined an original idea. They shouldn’t be able to call it a sneaky unless it’s a wood to wood joint. Just my opinion though.
