I'd like to know how much does the predator sneaky Pete cost. It has green veneer points and is a first generation cue. Anyone know how old it is? Also which is the better choice. The predator or the McDermott lil guy 1 with the Irishman lithograph and four points. It's from 03 and it's brand new. I think they were limited and are hard to find. Thanks.

The old Predator Sneaky, Green veneers, SS joint, 5/16 X 14 joint? I believe it's early 90's. About 90 - 92 (I got mine in 92) I think at that time it was about 350. I found that they did produce an almost identical one for a time it had a slightly lighter wood. I have seen this offered here for anywhere between 200 and 500 depending on condition.
As to which is the better choice, that's totally subjective and completely at your discretion. which do you like better?

I always played McDermott but someone has these for sale and I don't wanna pay to much. The original lil guy cost around 380 and is very rare. It came out in 03. The lil guy 2 are a dime a dozen. Can't find the predator price. It is the plain one with no steel joint and no wrap.

Thanks a lot. I should have joined this board years ago. I think the shaft on the McDermott is the regular shoddy from that year. The guy owned a pool hall twenty years ago and had like thirty old cues that he's selling. He has more expensive ones but I don't wanna go over 300. He said he'll sale them half price. He had some hueblers too and some old meucci.

If the McDermott is from last year, it should have come with a G-core shaft, which is McDermott's somewhat low-deflection shaft.

As to playability...those 5/16x14 Predator SPs are hard to beat, for the money. If it is uniloc, then not so much so...they tend to vibrate apart somewhat and you have to build a test-tightening into your preshot routine.

I have always personally found McD cues to feel sort of "dead" to me. Predators feel more lively. It really is about what you like more.

If the owner would let you test drive both of them for a few racks each, give them both a try. Set up the same shots for each cue and see which feels better to you.

If he is selling them in your budget of under $300, you really can't go wrong with either cue, IMO....if he is a McD dealer and the lil Guy is new, it will have McD's lifetime warranty with it.

Both are new from wherever they came out. I don't think the g core was out then. He was a dealer but his pool hall closed almost ten years ago so I don't know if I'll have a warranty. I'm sure you have to renew the license.
