Predator Warrantee Sucks

My 314-2 shaft split. No water, no sanding, just the glue lines failed, presumbly. Ive owned 5 or 6 predator shafts and only one has never had some problem or other, a first gen z. I loaned it to a mate, and he jammed it in a door frame within a week.

That's very odd and I would have loved to see the shaft, the first thing I would do is smell the shafts when they came in after looking at them for obvious sanding or swelling of the wood. Smelling the shaft tells you what they use for cleaning, like Ajax, which is usually mixed with water and explains the shaft separating. If you saw how they were put together and glued it's hard to imagine there being an area where the glue didn't hold, especially with a glue where the bond is stronger than the wood itself.

I carry a bag with me with Super Glue and all kinds of crap when I go to play. I could change your tip by hand with all the crap in my bag.

Same here, I used to do cue repair and miss having a lathe so now I carry everything but a lathe in my case.

Warranties mean nothing these days. you compromised the integrity when you tried to repair it, and you told them so - BIG mistake! this is where your retailer or rep comes into play. if they are upstanding, they will understand the situation & go to bat for you & get it replaced @ N/C. but if you don't have a relationship with someone - you're screwed.

and the kicker is, it's probably a $50 fix. i'd call Predator in Jacksonville & send them a link to your thread....

There are not many companies that do not look for a way out of honoring a warranty.

Harley Davidson voided a guys warranty when his transmission went out. They said the flag he was flying on his bike caused undue stress on his transmission due to wind drag..
