just wondered if anybody had tried changing the z2 to a pro taper from the conical taper?....wondering if the deflection characteristics changed?.....how whippy the shaft would become/became.
i like the size of the shaft(11.75mm) but i have a long stroke and i feel the taper is restricting this.
any thoughts would be greatly appreciated..........

I play with a Z2 and the conical taper if pretty friendly to a long stroke. You can barely feel the change in size. It is not like a snooker cue

Are you talking about milling a Z'2 into a "Pro Taper" ?

edit (Seriously?)

I HAVE A PLAYER IN MY ROOM THAT HAD THE TAPER EXTENDED....... TO ME IT MAKES THE SHAFT VERY "WHIPPY" BUT HE LOVES IT.

Z2 Taper

I'm not sure about the Z2, but I've got a 1st Edition Z that I had turned down to around 11mm and extended the taper down a little farther and I thought it played pretty well. I was using it on a radial pin so the hit was pretty nice, then I hit with a Z2 on a unilock and it seemed to have a much stiffer hit, so I don't what made more of a difference the taper or the joint. I'm guessing the joint, but I did notice that I could put alot more spin on the cue ball with the Z that had been turned down. Hope this helps. Later...
