Predator z2 vs ob-2 shafts what say you?

Had a z2 abd it played strong how does it compare to the ob-2 what's your thoughts

I played with predator shaft for a while then started playing with an ob1. Now i play with a OB2. It would be hard to imagine the Z2 playing any better. I guess it is a personal preference thing.

I have an OB-2 and absolutely love it. The taper is a bit strong but with the quality of hit I'm getting with it I'll learn to love it. I've never hit with a Z2, but I've hit with a 314-2. I based my decision on a OB-2 by comparing a 314-2 to an OB-1. I thought they both hit very well but didn't find that one was superior to the other. By this I figured either one will be a fine choice. I chose the OB-2 because they're made in the US, and because of Royce's reputation.
 
I'm not qualified to compare, but I watched a local pro try out an OB2 for the first time. He's a pretty top level player, has played in the DCC against the likes of Mika. He seemed to really like it. This is someone who really relies on his predator shaft and loves it, and he did a few sick stroke shots that he said he couldn't do with his predator.

Yes the angles were that extreme when the ball spun off the rail =o
Though I probably botched the diagram a little you get the idea. He also was able to draw below the side pocket a few times with the same result. Amazing to see the difference between a pro stroke and a normal human's.
 
I have shot with both and the OB-2 seems much more solid. I really prefer the hit over the z2. Could be just personal preference but I know I won't be changing anytime soon.
 
I like the Z2 because the taper on the OB-2 is just not what I like. With that said, I love the OB-1.

I've found this with my OB-2 as well. It really makes certain types of shots effortless because of the spin it puts on the cue ball. BUT, to be fair....I do have a Moori Hard on it where I used to use a Moori Medium on my old shaft. It could be the difference in the tips.
 
From what I hear, many people had probelm with the ferrule breaking on the Z2, don't know if you have the problem, but none with the OB2s. I just purchased an OB2 over the Z2 as well. I have put the OB2 down for now and try to get my game straight with my standard shaft before I switch any equipment being a beginner. Not to mention, Royce at OB is one of the easiest guy to deal with and he stands behind his product 100%.

Ob2

I have an OB 2 and I love it. However my ferrule did break on me twice. Royce did stand behind his product and fixed it both times.

The OB1 and OB 2 are great shafts and I will continue to play with them, but I just order the predator sport cue with the z2 shaft so I'm excited to see the difference.
