Predator's WPA Women's World 9 Ball

Breaking at 10ball on super-tight equipment is pretty tough.
Breaking 9-ball on super tight equipment with no break box and a magic rack isn’t that hard for elite pool players even if it is 9 on the spot.

Then again it wasn’t a magic rack, so if it’s going to be “pretty tough” then the differentiating factor will be who got a tight rack from the ref and who didn’t.

The “successful break” stat to me was suspiciously low to me

I watched most all of that match. Some really great play till about the middle of the 4th set, then the mistakes crept their way in. Hopefully for those that watched, you didn't just tune in near the end as you really missed some great shooting.

Personally I feel as you creep up to the hill of a final for a world championship, I expect the adrenaline must be spiked to the max. I take any mistakes at that stage as signs of just how massive the moment is and not as critiques of the level of competition.

The shootout was definitely dramatic but why that format instead of simply whomever wins the set? It's not like there's a shootout any other set that gets to 3-3, and you don't have to win a set by two games, so it's not like speeding things up like tiebreakers in tennis. I can't come up with the logic behind it other than to simply add drama and requiring skill on one kind of shot at one particular time to determine the world champion.

Congrats to Seo. She earned it. All respect to the player.

In regards to the event. Hate shootouts. Wish it was settled with an actual rack of 9-ball.
Here's my alternative to the shootout: A game of H.O.R.S.E.

For those not familiar with the basketball reference, it'd go like this: Player A wins the lag (or coin toss) and can set up any shot on the table. If she makes it, then Player B has to make the exact same shot, and if she misses it, she gets an "H". If Player A misses her preferred shot, and Player B makes it, then Player A gets the "H". This continues until one of the players becomes a "HORSE".

Yes, it's a bit weird, but it'd be a way for the players to demonstrate something beyond the ability to make a spot shot. It'd promote imagination and risk taking.

Or....you could just make the 5th set like any other set, and when it gets to 3-3 then the winner of the next game wins the match. Much better than the shootout.

Enjoyed the match, started watching around end of 2nd set and watched until the end. Hate the shootout finish, like everyone else it appears, especially for a world championship. Stupid way to decide things at the end, would have much rather seen them play out 1 final rack.

George T and Mark White are two guys who keep getting booked who I can’t stand. They’re both have diarrhea of the mouth and don’t know when to shut up.

The others like Tim, Pepsi are also bad. Only good one is Eric H who does his homework is familiar with almost all players (male or female) and their achievements. Their guest player commentators are pretty good like Tony Robles, Alex Kazakis
Nice match by Seo. Poor Fisher fans can go crying home. Two asshats sitting next to me were appalled I was “rooting for the Korean girl”. Lmfao

Must be this ass seating next to the Kardashians , I mean Khodjaevas. cos he was clapping when Seo missed her shootout shot :ROFLMAO:

pepsi is in a league of his own

well worthy champion. she showed real resilience in that match, and the emotions at the end spoke volumes. all the practice, all the hours she put in.. the denied earl hug.. it all lead to this

Yes she is more deserving winner. Best performer in whole event, undefeated throughout whole event dropping only 3 sets while Tkach lost 1 match dropped 7 sets though Tkach faced a few tough opponents 750+. Seo has edge steadier in most departments (safety, kicking, potting, creativity) except break.

She is not missing earl hug cos she now has her loverboy. Capito did good job supporting her :ROFLMAO:

the shootout of spotshots is an awful way to determine a winner, but i don’t really like anything about predator🤷🏽

tables, cues, the slug rack triangle, the cat on every ball

but i’m not a predator, maybe their products are made for predators and all the predators in the world will gladly celebrate their champion predator

Yeah, one of the matches the ref must have spent a solid 5mins trying to get a tight rack for one of the games. I wanted to punch a hole in my TV. Just use a damn template.

I think the next step in Predator's saturation marketing strategy is to change every word in the English language to "predator." We can then communicate only through varying inflection and tone.

i did watch about an hour total of the entire men’s and women’s jax tournament

but when the women’s final went to a shootout i turned it off, figured reading about it later would be just as interesting

difficult for me to watch people play on predator tables, online or at the pool room, those tables are off, watching play on pedator tables hurts me, how to say, confuses my sense of timing and postion play

but i’m not a predator maybe all predators like these products, maybe they are designed for predators and loved by all predators

if being critical of predators and predator cue products is ‘bitching,’ so be it
