Preliminary BCA-Vegas Entry Totals

So I was sitting at work bored today and was surfing the BCA 8ball Nationals website and saw the list of entries. I copy and pasted them into Excel and totalled the individual Events up. Here are the results that I see:
(These are the total players in each event. You can divide the team events by 5 and Scotch by 2 but some have alternates, so this is an approximate.

9-ball Challenge Singles - 119
9-Ball Challenge Masters - 20
Master Scotch Doubles - 133 so about 66 teams
Men's Grand Master Singles - 11
Men's Master Singles - 139
Men's Open Singles - 1436
Men's Player Member Singles - 179 what is this one?
Men's Senior Singles - 285
Mixed Master Teams - 96 about 19 teams?
Mixed Open Teams - 4199 about 835 teams or so.
Mixed Trophy Teams - 523 Over 100 teams
Open Scotch Doubles - 859 about 428 teams
Super Senior Singles - 145
Women's Grand Master Singles - 7
Women's Master Singles - 66
Women's Open Singles - 415
Women's Open Team - 804 about 160 teams
Women's Player Member Singles - 24
Women's Senior Singles - 101
Women's Trophy Team - 40

TOTAL ENTRIES AT NATIONALS - 9672

WOW,and i thought i was bored:D im so f.king bored i wish vegas was tomorrow
 
I have always wondered this.What is the trophy division and why would someone just not play in team open?

players who are not part of a league are also eligible to play in the masters and grand masters. non sanctioned players cannot play in open, teams or scotch. that is the reason for the player member singles. if not those players would have to play in the masters.
