If someone wants to keep it cheap and wouldn't otherwise have any other use for a vice (everybody should have a vice though), I would think any C-clamp of the type below would work well as long as the jaw diameters are bigger than the tip and you keep the tip centered on both jaws.

C clamps pivoting head make them hard to use. Cue components sells an okay tip press. A small vise is like 20 dollars and does a great job.

Picone is really great. I think it is $35 on ebay and should outlast you or I. I've had great luck with it and it's really fun to experiment with.

I'm new to installing tips and heard of pressing tips but is there a set amount to press? Just press a little or go til it stops (within reason of course)
