How long and how much pressure do you use when pressing tips ?
do you need to wet them ?

thanks . carl

Carl there are too many ways to list. Try soaking them in h20, milk, cranbury juice, mineral spirits just to name a few. Scuff the back first so they absorb better. Then press until dry...clearly more pressure makes them harder. Experiment & find what works for you. And no....you don't even have to soak them.:)

i used to soak my tips for break cues in alcohol then press until dry. i also tried the elkmaster in milk.

now i just press them dry for a few seconds to help the mushroom and thats it

ive given up on this. im not superman. there is only so much i can control. if your tip mushrooms and i put it on i trim it for free

You can waste a lot of timing messing with this idea. Its not really worth it with all the fantastic tips available.....Sniper, Kamui, Molavia, Everest, etc.;)

Just press most all non layered tips in a vise. How can one describe the amount of pressure needed? That comes by feel. Press them dry for a few seconds and you will be fine. Some layered tips need pressed and some do not. Experience is your best teacher on which ones do and how much pressure is needed.
