A donut and coffee at the airport just cost me $12. I didn't tip because they had already added a service fee.
The last time I looked, on Saturday the cheapest ticket was $400+ -- only VIP left.
They have already sold over 80% of the 9000 total tickets so the prices are not too far off.
Ticketmaster is likely getting their 30%.

When did you look and for what day? This morning I bought a Friday only ticket. There were plenty of seats left, albeit in upper rows. Almost all of them were in the Blue zone, so I'll likely be sitting amongst Europe fans. But that's OK. At least I'll be there.
It's the same with the U. S. Open and every other live athletic event----the most expensive first Super Bowl ticket was twelve dollars.
I remember when a VIP seat for the entire U. S. Open in Chesapeake was under $100, but those days are long gone. OTOH as long as the streaming is relatively cheap as high quality I can live without having seen it in person. I can also watch every game in the MLB season on my wide screen TV or on my desktop for less than the cost of a single World Series ticket. It's called tradeoffs.

I guess a question would be, what is the least expensive ticket to an MLB game or an NFL game? Yes it will vary from market to market. Most of the time you will be looking at $50 to $100. I don't feel that is too expensive at all. Its funny how people want pool to be treated like a sport, but when it is treated like a sport, people complain. You can't make money in pool if everything is cheap or free. The Mosconi Cup is the Superbowl of pool so I would be completely fine paying that for tickets.

Sign of the times? I'm told movie theater tickets are ~$30 a head to watch a movie these days; and that's presuming you smuggle your own concessions in. Theaters are closing all over the place, my guess is it's a mix of high cost and simply just streaming these days (also applicable to pool) are two big factors. Just my humble opinion.

In my area for baseball, $20 or less. Football is about $100. This doesn't factor in dynamic pricing, opening day scenarios, and postseason.
Concessions though: $15-20 for a beer, food ie snacks maybe $10. A meal would probably be something like $15-20, though why eat a meal at a sporting event. That's like eating a meal at a strip club, though I'm assured there are places with really good food. Prime rib on the weekends LFG *cough* not that I would know.
There are venues that buck the norm. Most notable of which is probably Mercedes-Benz stadium, host of the Atlanta Falcons. Very affordable concessions.

$30 is a little on the high end. Maybe thats New York City . but yeah around here it’s $16 for the early show. It’s the streaming that’s killing movies.
Hell I stopped going to concerts because tickets are insane. We were going to go see Morgan wallen and the cheapest ticket we could find was almost $400. After concessions and the drive there you have a $1200 night for my wife and I to goto a concert. That’s a no for me lol but there packing stadiums so I’m in the minority .

Date night? Could average $20 per. 70mm IMAX is about $30 regardless, no one should have a problem with spending that as long as it's something you
Matinee prices start around $7 after tax for a standard format screening near me. Slight upgrade to the screen tech, maybe $11-12.

I didn't even think about a downtown metro, probably paying almost that much regardless.
Last one I got dragged to was a Micheal Bolton concert back in the 90's. I was poisoned for life.
Last movie I saw in the theater was Titanic, I was passing along what I was told by my daughter. I didn't look it up.
this is quite true. it's a nostalgia ritual for the ladies at this point.. everybody got a big flatscreen tv at home
