Why would you assume people have only read about him.... Some of us have seen him crush people on the bar table...

I only say that simply because of the people who speak without knowing the whole story. I wasnt trying to be rude just a little inside joke. :D
i too have seen him crush people and i too have seen Larry crush people in north vernon. I am rooting for chris but i hate it when peoople offer up their 2 cents and it is only worth a penny! I wonder if North Vernon Slim has any interest in this match i would like to see who he is betting on.

time

When is this match taking place. I have played in NV many times and need to go see the boys anyway. I agree that Bartram is a heck of a player but I wouldn't hesitate to bet on Price. I have known Larry for 25 years and at one time he was as tough as they come. He is getting older but still very solid player.

Not that it matters much

There game is 10 ahead for 10G. even. I don't feel that would be a long race on a bar box where a number of games can be strung together quickly. Larry plays very well especially if the pockets aren't very tight. Bartram plays very well on a bar box also although many may not know it. He beat Keith M. and Little John playing Captain in a eight ahead race on a bar box giving them the 7 at the DCC 2 or 3 years ago. Larry and Chris played once before and Larry won by the way.

Dick

..but it is an 11 ahead match according to LP's horse. I talk to him almost everyday. In fact he invited me to go with them but got other things to do. I don't want to knock LP but I think this is an even match on the box and should definitely be a good one.

I like that quote so much that I may someday add that in the place where my signature (is that what's it's called) goes on the bottom of my posts.

I like to give "scouting reports" without knocking anyone's action. And that is sometimes a fine line.

But I'm with Mike and the others who voiced the same sentiments. I hate being asked to bet it up on the internet.

Would you care to place a wager on that sir? :D

Anyone who thinks Price has little hope on a bartable , I would venture to say knows nothing about pool. I would say this would be a 50- 50 game. Larry plays awful good for the money and doesn't play any game he has no chance. And OF COURSE he has the best of it playing bank

Cincyman,

Thanks for the nice comments. Not just in this post, but in the ones that followed also. "Because the read about him" "Offer their 2 cents and it's only worth a penny." Gee, cincyman, you're a swell guy!

I could add that it was an opinion, and I could also add that it was how I felt he would play against CB, and I could also add that I never said he had little hope with other people, or I could add that unless I agreed with you (the one who must know oh soooo much) than you would have a nice dig, to make you feel like some kind of big shot, but I won't say any of that.

Instead, I'll just say that you (the only one on the whole forum who knows soooo much about pool) , you say that it's a 50-50 game, meaning, either one could just as easily win. Even though this is my first post here at AZB, I thought Chris would have the better of it. But who I am to go against you and your infinite knowledge?

Maybe, before any of us voice an opinion of who would win, maybe we should all check with you first, eh?
XOXOXO

For those of you that are interested I just talked to LP's horse and the match is set to start around 5pm.

Hey Cincy,

What's the game? I've played ol' Larry on the "box," and I've watched "the other guy" who everyone figures to be the favorite. Having your name out there a lot makes you famous.... Larry Price isn't as famous, but not much of the dog here, either. Give me the details and I'll just take a little bit. Just a little, tiny adjustment and I'll take the old man. Larry didn't just start gambling, either. If he is playing, he feels he's got the best of it. He normally doesn't "send it in" if he feels it's up in the air.

Come on fellas, let's get some details and some small sweators rollin'.

Hey there i am saying i like Larry but i am rooting for chris. I lived in charleston for a while and saw larry play everyday. I would think this game is pretty even, and yes him and his backer Matt normally dont "send it in" unless they feel they got the best of it. I am only rooting for chris because larry knocked me out of the last big tournament in charleston and i am bitter:o

Don't be bitter, C'Man. Larry has knocked alot of good players out of big tournaments. And that ain't knocking him. Most people on the east coast know Larry and how he plays. He and Matt have been hooked up for a few years now. Matt is a good guy and don't mind losing. Most of the games they get are brought to them. I'm not saying they don't look for action I'm just saying folks like to pick on the 'old man'.lol

Another thing, I usually root for the guy who puts me out of a tournament but evidently you are the other way around. Save face man and root for Larry. Point is, don't be mad!!

Lp's backer,Matt, didn't get there on time and the match didn't start until 8pm. Larry pulled it off in 4 and 1/2 hours. There was alot of money on the line and that is all I will say. Matt called me right after it was over and talked to me about it. They are going to play again tomorrow starting about 4pm and for even more money this time he thinks. Matt had called me about an hour after they started playing and Larry was up 6 games then. He also said there was action on every table. Matt called me as he was leaving and wanted me to go but I had priorities elsewhere. But that's the way it goes. I wil try to give updats tomorrow as I can if it does indeed go off.

I will take chris tomorrow for a $100. PM for any takers.

Don't know if this match will happen today or not. Chris was up late last night and beat Dennis out of a good chunk of change. Don't know what is going to happen for today. But I will try to keep you guys updated as I hear.

Gary

Don't believe they are playing today.

With the score from Dennis, Chirs almost got even.
