Hope someone can help me out. I just brought what I thought was the latest BCA rule and records book from Borders. It has a copyright date in the front pages of 1992, so I was a bit suspicious that the rules were out of date.

I asked at the desk of Borders before buying and found out that they purchased the book in 2002, so I went ahead and got it, figuring that the copyright date may not have been updated, but the late purchase date would almost guarentee that it is the most recent.

After having a quick read, I am more sus that it is out of date (specifically a guide to refs that they can tell a player what rule will apply for a shot they haven't made yet, which I am fairly sure is no longer legal).

So anyone with a copy of the latest edition, what copyright year is written in the front?

Thanks!

Good evening:

The most current edition of the BCA rule book has photos of Jeanette Lee and Ewa on the back cover.

My old one says on the first page, The Official Rules and Record Book 2002 Edition. I get a new one every year. I am a Certified BCA instructor.

Thanks for the info...
Back to the Borders refund counter I go

The latest one I have is 2003 and it's ring-bound so it'll lie flat.

I get one every year because I'm a National Referee. I have no idea what's going to happen this year as I have yet to get an invoice to renew my referee status. Oh, sorry, I did get one from the ACS, but i'm not joining up with them.

About 1992 the BCA seems to have contracted with The Lyons Press to print a version of the rule book. That got distribution into book stores, but did not get updated. It seems that it is still being sold. For collectors, note that there are two versions of the book, one with a reversed picture (see the 14 ball).

The BCA prints a new rule book every year.
