Pro Bar Players Tour?

I ran across this site via social media.

I’m just curious if anyone else has seen it. Feels pretty sus to me. Some red flags are some seriously unrealistic payouts and some really wonky rules (behind the line 8-ball, call shot 9-ball).

Here's the rules... Call shot 9-Ball.

8-Ball---- no caroms..?
Using opponents choice of group or the eight-ball in any fashion to pocket a ball constitutes loss of shot. Opponent shoots.

No thanks. I don't like playing on bar boxes as it is but when you throw in those BS rules, I'm good.

The legal break is also only 1 ball having to hit a rail. I think I see where PoolKiller is spending his time doing now LOL
Can't pocket an opponent ball on your shot or touch it. So blocking a pocket is a lot more effective, especially when the guy is on the 8 ball and you can't shoot through the other ball or carom off it.
9 ball is called shot but you can make the 9 accidentally and it's a win as long as you pocket your called ball? Eh?
I'm surprised the rules don't talk about the ball return hole or refer to the rails as wall.
Sounds like this was made up by some bar bangers that were introduced to real pool recently, a mix of "real" rules and bar rules. Designed to equalize skill a bit where good play is not as effective vs luck of the layout.

I guess for using somewhat bar-ish rules for bar players is not horrible, at least the rules are half-way reasonable compared to some rules I have seen. They don't make you call every rail touch at least when pocketing a ball at least.

As someone else pointed out, you need a lot of interest in this. Their payouts, at $50 a match a player, would need 43,300 player matches to break even with the payout.

That NLB tour tried something similar, it ended up being half of the expected turn out, shortened season, changed final setup and did not come back for a second time.
