Pro Billiard Series - Las Vegas Men's Open 10ball live now

Watching Patsura vs. Kuriansky now. Once again good camera work (thnx to director Vincent R.) and decent commentary along with a good referee, makes for a good show. They use the overhead a lot but it is used wisely, not so it's distracting. I got spoiled listening to John S. and Erik H. doing commentary so the two foreign voices were not nearly as legible or knowledgeable. What really bothered me though was constantly referring to Kuriansky as the Mexican and Patsura as the Ukranian. It was very demeaning to not call them by their actual names. Vincent should have put a stop to that quickly and he did not. It was nice for me to see a referee who knows his job. Same in the first match I watched. Much better than the refs Matchroom used on some of their shows. Once again some good pool being played by two men who carry themselves as professionals.

Did they get a new director? Definitely better camera work than before. At least, they are not focusing on the player's face as much as before rather than focusing on the table.

The referee during Frankie Hernandez vs. SVB cracked me up. Frankie made a 2-10 combo and is standing still, the referee is behind him and is just staring at Frankie while both are standing still. Frankie looks at him and murmurs something, probably to the effect of spotting the 10-ball, the referee quickly walks over to spot the 10 ball so Frankie can continue shooting, almost as if he completely forgot to do his job :ROFLMAO:

Early 10's count don't they?

Switched over to the PLP being played in Florida. Big difference, starting with the gray cloth, not nearly so pleasing to the eye as the blue cloth used in the Predator event. The commentary was amateurish by comparison as well, and 9-Ball is boring after watching a good Ten Ball match. The players made many errors and misses on a Diamond table that was more forgiving than the Predator box. The audio was garbled and the camera work not nearly as good. Definitely a lower quality production than the one Predator is putting on.

I love what Mathroom has done for pool but they are falling behind Predator in this head to head competition imo.

I have no interest in the Predator event.

Bergman's return is far more interesting.

That blows. Takes away some excitement. The old way was one rule i really liked.
Yesterday in the Gorst match and then the SVB match there were about seven 10s made on the break. It was something weird about how the table was breaking because it happened with two different referees and you can see that they were trying to get tight racks.
I personally don't like early 10s (specifically 10 on the break) that’s not excitement for me because it's more of a slop.

Yeah I see no issue with early 10's, it speeds the game up and still requires some kind of skill to make a combination. I do think it needs to be called though, always. As opposed to 9ball, where you can make a combination and the 9ball goes flying 3 rails into a pocket and you win, that is literally slop.

During the Lee Van/Gomez match last night, Roberto played for a 2-10 combo and didn’t realize that early 10s don’t count. Ended up having to jump to hit the 3 ball after the 10 spotted because he unintentionally hooked himself.
