Not sure if this has been discussed before, but the ref in the Vietnam vs Indonesia match just blew a call (called a foul on a good hit). Refused to look at the video replay - said he wasn’t allowed.
I don’t know what their rules are for this event. The WPA rules only expressly discuss video review when there is an area referee.
However, in all cases they do allow for a protest and for the referee to form his decision on the protest by all means deemed suitable to him, which to me would include video.
I’d be curious what Bob Jewett or Dr Dave think, and also why the Rules don’t explicitly say a presiding referee may review video if available.
