I have had consistent health care coverage most of my life - either paid for by myself (individual PPO) or through an employee benefits program. In fact, at one time, I ran dual coverage.
There is no reason a Pro Player could not have the same except for the choices they make with their, though meager, income.
So, you see no reason why a pro player can't pay 600 or more a month for just themselves? I had insurance for 20 years, started out paying around 100, then paid 247.00 for many years and never used it once, and they went up to 587.00, I canceled. Well, many couldn't pay that, pool player or not. A few hour stay at the hospital cost me 3500 a few months ago. A knee surgery cost me over 10,000 three years ago, and that was the cash discount price. Surgery on one eye cost me 4000 a few months ago, cash price. I've had some heart problems for the last year that has cost me over 10,000 so far. You can't even get a appointment with a good doctor without insurance now. Health care is busting many of the middle class citizens.
