Pro Pool Payroll in Perspective

One thing to consider when reading pro players' winnings/earnings for a year, they do not pocket all that money.
Another thing to consider is that it doesn't include any monies collected 'professionally' that weren't won via event. ...and the expense renumeration they would get to some degree via sponsorship.

I'd wager the professional player of today is far more money savvy then the 'pro bangers' of old.

That is also a good point.

One thing about the industry member sponsorship of pro players is that the sponsorship sometimes comes in the form of product instead of being paid money. Of course, the pro player can sell the product and advertise the brand, which is helpful to the industry member when a known player is promoting the brand. I have seen many pro players auction and/or sell cues and other pool-related items on Facebook.

I am curious if that dynamic differs for the elite pro. Take Shane's Rasson sponsorship for example. How many times have you seen SVB walking the floor of the USopen events raffling off an OX table..?

I have witnessed the 'lesser pro' (not meant in a derogatory manner) raffling off cues, jumpers, etc....

Q sports participation worldwide have gone up. Back in the DAY whenever that was, who would ever think great players would come from Albania, Viet Naum, Kuwait, Spain, Columbia and many more countries. That can only be attributed to popularity of the games. In South Korea, that small country has about 25% of all carom tables worldwide. Snooker is very popular throughout the far east and all the middle east countries. The money is coming. There will be at least four pool table manufactures vying for sales and use in competition. Predator sales of equipment has to be in the millions of dollars as well. So, the MONEY is coming.
