Pro pool without a shot clock

you don't think that kick double carom into the side was a result of the interminable pondering?
what is the point of this thread? if he thinks i'm gonna watch all that just to hopefully find out he's crazy. so cut to the chase and tell us what that video is supposed to tell us.

video shows tyler and meglino walking around a pool table looking philosophical

how many players do you reckon there are that regularly go deep in these tournaments BECAUSE there is no shot clock? take hennessee as example, no match under two hours, it's always the same story

This one wasn't particularly noteworthy or unique in the grand scheme of things but I did like how after all that hemming and hawing, Styer won the game after slopping in a ball.

He also took forever just to rack the balls before the video starts.

Unmanned shot clocks can't be far off in the future... Every table at my local hall has a camera, so surely the camera can be linked to the scoreboard somehow? I mean, the camera is used to keep score on the snooker table without any human intervention, so surely it can be used for pool... Pool, whatever the level, should use a shot clock. I play some people that make me want to take up a side hobby like still life drawing while I am waiting for a shot...

I'm signed up to play in the Railyard 1pocket in December -- mit shot clock.

30 second shot clock with one extension per rack and 60 seconds for the first shot after the break.

Sounds good to me.

problem with shot clocks is the players get used to taking all the time it offers every shot instead of shooting fast on the easy ones.
I will never even think "easy shot" ever again after last night, damn near straight in, BIH, and rattled it in the pocket, lost the game, I was pissed at myself, I now think makeable shot, even highly makeable shot, when I think easy I don't believe there is any way I can miss.....until I miss.......

everyone does that sooner or later. your turn had come.
I can accept the cueball being kicked into the pocket breaking a cluster, or something like that but it's carelessness that caused that miss, it means I didn't follow my whole shot routine, shame on me.
