i guess i am not understanding something about the above shot. i believe it says to place the cue ball in the center of the table and the 6-Ball in the middle of the short rail. then it says to pocket the 6-Ball in any corner pocket and get position on the 7, then the 8, then finish with the 9.

my question is how can you possibly pocket the 6-Ball in this diagram with the cue ball in the center of the table?

am i missing something here?
are you supposed to bank the 6-Ball in?

I would skip that one. I have the DVD, and if the shot you mention is the one I think it is, he banks the 6 straight back. Doesn't make much sense to me as a drill at all. Aside from that, the drill book is pretty good.

BTW, happy to see you doing drills! Way to go.

Lewd-man,
I have no idea about the shot, but if it is a bank, the drill DOES make some sense.

The table length bank from the center is one of The Beard's "Automatic" bank shots. You should be able to make it almost every time, and get position about anywhere on the table. If a player can't do that, then this would be the drill to achieve that particular proficiency.

P.S. - "Banking with the Beard" ROCKS, there is NOTHING in the pool literature even remotely like it. Freddie should have been a scientist.
