Problem with black dot and HOF 2

Hi there!

I wish someone could help me out here! :)
I recently bought a black dot shaft for my Meucci HOF2 but I realised that it wouldn't fit on my cue although they have the same pin. The problem is that the shaft has a piece of iron extended over the end flat part of it! I tried to cut it but even after I trimmed it a lot it still remains a tiny part that makes everything difficult resulting in leaving a gap of almost 1 mm between the shaft and the cue. I have attaced the first foto as it was at the begining without trimming and I am about to post the new foto of the situation as it is. Please if anyone has any idea of how to overcome this problem let me know and I would be grateful!

Thanks in advance!

Looks like you need to take it to a cuemaker and have that pilot on the shaft milled off. Meucci could do it, of course, but they've had plenty of problems with customer service and repair in recent times. I wouldn't send it to Meucci, not these days.

Thanks Flex but I am some miles...0000 away from where the shaft should be sent and just calculating the postage costs, they are killing me. That is why I thought of doing it myself although I knew it would be hard!! Also I have recently bought a pool table and I just cant wait for a cuemaker to fix my shaft! lol I want it to be done yesterday! :)

Thank you! :)

I am sorry to say this, but I have never seen a shaft like that one in my life. What model cue did it come from? Please include a photo of the Black Dot on the shaft and a photo of the Ferrule.

I am a dealer for Muecci cues and have been for a Number of years.

Thanks Craig

If I was you I would do it myself, but I am not you so I say take it to a cue maker or machine shop....in that order. If you lived near me I would do it for you, but I highly doubt you live near me.

I think that the Shaft is certainly a Black Dot made by Meucci. The problem appears to be that the Shaft insert is loose and will need to be replaced, that is why it is sticking out like it is.

Either way any cue repairman or Cue Maker can fix your problem very easily and at a small cost.

Take care

Thank you very much for your help!!

I will try to trim it by myself and if I don't get any better results I will take it to a cuemaker although you can really hardly find one in my country!!

Thanks guys! :)
