Problems watching the World Championship

Just a couple of questions about the link that Shane posted for the World Championship on Windows Media Player. I am wondering if anyone else is having troubles with their computers bombing while watching? Other than today(only once) my computer seems to bomb about every 15 minutes. I am wondering if it is a problem with my computer and if so what can I do? Before watching today?s matches I went into my Control Panel and pressed on ?Free up space on my hard disk?. I also did this during the breaks and between sessions. I have no idea if it helped, but the computer only bombed once. Naturally I will be doing it again tomorrow, to be on the safe side.

Also at times I have had audio (1/4's and semi?s), sometimes with English commentators. In today?s first session I could only hear the referee. During the second session the commentators were speaking German, I believe. One last thing, as the link was hooking up to Media Player, I had a soccer game on. After a couple of tries, I was able to watch the snooker.

I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same problem?

Again Shane, thanks for the link, but my honey do list, suffered today, darn.

I can't coment much on the bombing. I had a few issues, but they were due to my wireless internet connection.

As for the comentators it happened to me too. They had what would have been a fun interview with steve davis at the interval today, but it was ruined by the german comentator translating.

I'm not wireless, so I'm thinking its my computer. I tried turning the volume up to hear Davis, but that didn't work either.

I hadn't had any problems until Sunday, when the screen froze a few times. If it didn't resume action quickly, I refreshed. Not a big deal.

I suspect that the servers were getting higher demand than earlier in the week.

The feed is nearly 700 kbs, really great picture quality, makes problems tolerable.:D

Every once in awhile the transmission pauses. I'm pretty sure the BBC just doesn't have sufficient bandwith allocated.
As for your computer bombing, that's got to be your computer. The things that could be wrong with your computer are infinite! Memory, IP stack, harddrive space. You name it.

Thanks for the help, it has only bombed once this morning and it was as they were going to the break. My computer is due in tomorrow for servicing. Well I better get going so that I can clean it out(not certain it helps) before the break is over.

Carter just does not seem settled. Perhaps Ronnie's reputation is playing mind games with him.
