Hey guys, I have a Valley Cougar bar table. I have replace the coin chute and checked all the springs (2 coin chute springs and large spring). I'm still having problems with the trap and coin chute NOT returning. The bar owner says that he need to pry the with a cue stick to get the coin chute to return. Any ideas on what I should check, replace or do?

First, check the 2 nylon rollers on the ball gate push arm to make sure that they roll freely. If they're binding on the ball gate elbo, that'll stop the arm from returning, thereby restricting the coin chute from returning. Second, look to see that the coin chute returns freely after you push it through with quarters, when the door is not mounted. If it comes back easy, then the problem is in the table...not the coin chute.

Check to see that the ball gate has both shoulder bolts mounted tightly, as to keep the ball gate centered and not rubbing on the wood frame. Then, by hand, reach in and push back the ball gate release arm to see how freely the ball gate drops, watch its travel down and back...look for it binding somewhere.

Call me if you don't see where the problem is.
