Prodigy1 - scammer???

I received a request from Prodigy1 to buy a cue I had for sale.

I thought it was weird because he committed to buying two or three jump/breaks from different sellers on the same day. I have also noticed that he offered to but some shafts and other items.

He sent payment via a Paypal Echeck and then sent me a PM asking to ship the cue and to leave positive feedback.

Instead of shipping the cue right away; I waited until the check cleared.

I received notice this morning that the check has bounced.

I would like to warn others not to send anything to Prodigy1 or the person named below until we can confirm his being a valid buyer.

Did the same to me

oh look...9cheeser's last day online is 1/18/13 and prodigy1 became a member....yup...1/18/13

Already explained that bank thought it was fraudulent because so many purchases were made. Will gladly make payments now as Paypal is reloaded. The reason i buy so much is because i resale locally. Sorry for the confusion.

I am sorry Prodigy if I jumped the gun here.

I just wanted to help protect the community.

I don't blame you at all. I would have worried also. I use chase and have crappy fraud protection on my account. As soon as they saw all the purchases they declined and locked my account. I've been on the phone all day getting it straightened out. Still plan to make good on all deals i made. Not a scammer, just a bad situation that i got caught in with my bank. Will be fixed shortly. I sincerely apologize for the confusion.

he tried to pay me w/ a PayPal Echeck for my BK2. i got a notice from PayPal that the check bounced. my Bk2 is back up for sale unless he wants to send me a U.S. Postal Money Order. and then i will take it to the bank first.

This is a common occurrence for your bank not to release funds when they see multiple transactions through PayPal on the same day. However, the bank usually calls the account holder immediatlely to confirm which in turn would have approved the funds. Echecks usually take 3-4 days which would be plenty of time for the bank to contact account holder, surprised that did not happen

If you want those shafts by tomorrow or Friday morning please send payment asap so I can get them out

Me too

My payment was cancelled as well.

I think I see a trend here.

For those that are viewing this and paying attention. It's a very good idea to not ship any goods to a buyer that A) isn't a "Verified" user on paypal and B) doesn't have a "Confirmed" address on paypal. I know there may be some exceptions where this would be ok, but for the most part this is solid advice. At least if you see that A) or B) (or both) is the case, you should begin asking questions......

Sellers need to make sure to protect themselves, too.
