I'm not selling a table, but I do look for pool accessories at yard sales, or sporting goods ads in the paper.
Advertised professional tables with slate beds, that also come complete with balls and cues are some of
my favorites. I answered one ad where the woman said her dad bought this Professional table about 1980.
She said all the paper work was there, except the sales slip, but she knew he paid over $3000 back then.
There was a full set of balls and a white one. 5 cues.. 1 cue comes apart.. her dad's favorite Pro cue stick.
I show up to look at the slate pool table. The basement stairs are very steep with narrow steps and.. Ouch!
Watch your head she says. There's a wall rack with 5 cues and a white ball. 1 stick came apart, as she had
said. The papers were laid out on the table next to a plastic rack & 15 balls... 2 balls were from another set.
I said I don't think this table is slate. She opened up the papers and put her finger down, it says slatron bed.
My father was an excellent pool player she says. He never even hit the sides of the pockets, just the center.
He had this professional cue. She pointed her finger at the carved dragon 5 piece stick... His personal cue.
I thanked her for her time and said I'd think about it. I'm still "thinking about it" and just sharing my thoughts.
Do you ever see "Professional" tables and cues for sale? Many think they have the best.. even tho' it's junk.
