Projector question.

I didn’t see this topic addressed, so I thought I would ask everyone. There are a few ways to mount projector systems (foot/side/overhead), and I’d like to learn a few things about that. Does either mounting type have a tendency to get in the players eyes more than another? Which mounting are you using, and how has it worked out for you?

It seems like the side table and foot mount angles would blind the player from more angles. BUT- I don’t actually know. It’s a guess, and some of my guesses are pretty wrong.

I’d really like to hear about this, as well as if there are options or equipment that help alleviate the problem.

Thank you.

Tons of info in this thread about my installation and various experiments to find the best spot:

The short answer is by far the best spot is mounted to the ceiling aligned with the center spot of the table, pointing straight down to the floor (not angled), and approx 1 foot outbound of the side pocket. That gives the best picture, and makes moving the mouse the most natural. A short throw projector must be used in this location.

The blinding of the eyes does not occur in that spot, or the more traditional spot of far away from the table on the rack end.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve drooled over your setup a time or two, so if you wouldn’t mind, I have an additional question. Your lighting seems to be pro-spec: does your projector work well with that? Should I expect to have to dim the lights a tad when using PPro with the overhead?
