Public Apology

I feel I need to make a public apology to vinniebabarooch. I sent him a PM already but I feel I should apologize up front on the forum too. He put a plain jane Tad up for sale about a month or so ago and I told him that when I get my bonus, if he still has the cue, that I would take it. Today is the day bonuses are given and we were informed at the morning meeting that our bonuses were cut in half this time because we have less students this year. I work in a private school.

I feel terrible about this because I gave him my word that I'd take that cue off his hands. I hate having to back out like this but I just can't afford to take it. My car payments are set up at $260 bucks a month and $2,000 from my bonus. I'm getting enough to make my car payment and have a little left over but I can't afford 1400 on a cue right now.

Vinnie, I sincerely apologize for leaving you high and dry. This honestly isn't my way of doing things and I hope in the future if you have something that I may want to acquire that you won't hold this against me. If you do, well, I can't say I'd blame you but I hope that you won't.

Now you know why I left that place!! After living 18 years in Japan, and being bullied around by supervisors, superiors, and customers for so long, and having no way to voice my opinions and being expected to always just bow my head and say "sumimasen" I couldn't take it anymore!!! I've been back in the US since December, and although things here are a little too laid back, I'm happy to finally be in a situation where it's actually ok to sometimes stand up to your employer, and it's also ok to say "no" to a customer every once in a while!

Atleast you came on here and let everyone know what the deal was and admitted to what you did. There are quite a few on here that would have lied and b.s.'d their way about how they couldnt pay.

Just save your money for the next time I'm in Japan Mully. We just got home, but my wifes already on my case to get back. Maybe for New Years, but I suspect next spring again. See you then.

You might've jumped the gun a bit on this, but I don't see it as being your fault. You have to take care of what's important first, there's no shame in that. Good on you for not sidestepping the seller also.

Well when I originally talked to Vinnie I told him that when I got my bonus I'd take the cue. I also told him I understood if he needed to get rid of it if a buyer came before me. Anyway, I hate to give someone my word and then back out, and if there was a way to come up with an extra 1400 bucks I would, but it's not possible at this time. It really sucks finding out the day the bonuses come out that they're going to be short. Granted, they don't even have to give us a bonus, but still, they could have told us a few weeks ago. I'm just glad I didn't have anything big planned like a trip to the States.

No worries Mully. Not a problem at all.
Take Care.

Rep for you Mully...it takes a real man to come out in a public forum like this and tell the truth. Troy (Vinnie) is a great guy and I would have said he'd have no problem with this even if he hadn't commented in this thread already.

I responded to this Thread originally saying not to worry, were a family and sometimes sh*t happens. I thought you were a poor guy and just going through unpleasant circumstances.

Just trying to get your dream cue.

Then I read your Public Profile.

Your Public Profile Say's you have a White, Motteys X 5, a Tim Scruggs and a South West.

You couldn't have sold one of these to take care of your commitment to Troy ????

I usually don't write a negative response about anybody, but in this situation I think I would have honored my commitment.

No hard feelings, just my opinion.

That's a little out of the question, but of course that's just imho. Who's to say that he could sell one of those cues in a reasonable amount of time? Should he have to sell one of those cues at a bargain basement price, so as to acquire the money quickly? Honoring a commitment is one thing, what you're suggesting is taking it a bit too far though.

Tommy, I think you're a little out of line here. This guy is actually demonstrating clear, honest communication and voluntarily posted his apology publicly.

He could've just never responded - like several members have done recently, or sent a PM like most would do.

I think he's showing great character and integrity. I'll gladly do a deal with him.

None taken, man. But I gotta tell ya, selling one of my cues would be like cutting off one of my arms. I didn't just pop down a shitload of cash for those cues like I have money to burn. It took me a lot of time putting money together and coming up with what I have now. I just can't part with any of them. And I honestly do play with each and every one.

I respect your opinion though

Thanks, man. And if you see the people that I've dealt with on this forum you'll see only praise for how the deal went down. I'm a man of my word and you have no idea how bad I feel about this. I'm just really glad Vinnie accepted my apology for this.

And hey, I don't want to come off as a liar, when you guys see Jack Justis posting photos of my 3x6 case here in another month or so you should know that I talked to Jack about a case way before I got involved with the Tad deal.
