Pulling the trigger too soon

It seems like I been having issues with pulling the trigger too soon. I get down on the ball and find myself shooting before seeing the contact point. I stay down on the shot very well but shoot at the ball too quick, and this is mostly with far shoots where the concentration has to be more.

Any good advice on how to practice this?

start a to build a preshot routine.

institute a pause of arbitrary length at the end of the final backstroke b/f the final forward stroke for contact.

it doesn't matter how long or short just give yourself a little pause....it will help you to focus on your delivery and keep you from rushing.

There is no point going on to the next step in your process if you haven't successfully completed the current step, especially when you are locking your eyes on the target.

Exaggeration is effective in developing a solid and consistent process. In practice, exaggerate the time you spend locking onto your target. Make sure your eyes see it clearly and precisely. Stay locked on the target for a second or two before proceeding.

The farther away the target is, the more the eyes have to move up to find it, and the longer it will take to lock on to the precise target. Practice locking onto the target at various distances.

When you have finished all of your warm up strokes, stop at the Set position. Let your eyes move to your target and lock in on it. Draw back with a smooth backstroke while your eyes remain locked on the target. Pause. Then finish your stroke, eyes still locked on your target.
