OK, so I am getting ready to purchase my first table.
I done as much research as I can but I am having trouble telling how much difference there is in the various pool tables available. Obviously, the furniture itself is different. Similarly, some of the tables are obviously made of sub-par materials such as MDF.
Once I eliminate the tables like the above and those outside my price range I am basically left with three manufacturers available in my area.
There is a lot of info available on Olhausen but very little on the other two smaller manufacturers.
Connelly, it seems was purchased in 2011 and the manufacturing was moved to Texas. Most reviewers seem to think it was a quality table prior to the move but I can find little to no info on if quality has changed post acquisition.
Presidential appears to be mostly manufactured in Africa with final touches applied domestically. It seems they use African hardwoods which are, potentially, more durable than domestic woods.
They all make tables that seem well constructed to me, but I have no real expertise in this area so I thought I would ask the experts here for opinions.
I am currently leaning towards the Presidential billiards models but that is mostly based on appearance which is probably not the best way to buy a pool table.
Any advice would be appreciated.
